Large Glass Art by Patty Gray

~ Whale Sculpture ~

Patty Gray slumped and edged this piece of glass for her friend Teri Zimmerman who sandcarved the humpback whales. The glass is either 1/2" or 3/4" thick float

The ironwork was done by John Loeffler from New Blue Moon Studio, and yes, that is a chair built into the structure for balance.

"The mold I slumped this with only had about 1/2" clearance all the way around. I annealled it longer than usual because of that fact and also since she was going to carve it so deep." -Patty
