In December 2001 I was asked to make a full-size glass guitar by my friend Dan Albrecht. I loved the opportunity to make something very different and unique. To have it turn out so well was very rewarding. |
The glass chosen for this guitar was System 96. All of the components (except the tuning machines) are made of glass and were cut by hand (no saw cuts). The frets and the accents on the base of the guitar were made from CBS dichroic and the strings were fiber optics.
This guitar was made for display purposes only and was on exhibit at the NAMM International Music Market at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA in January, 2002.
